
Picadinho
“This has a lot to do with our mixed character. It is a mixed dish, a mix that is very Brazilian, with rice, beans, farofa, meat and eggs."
Ingredients
- 1kg of filet mignon (cut into 0.39 inch cubes)
- 200g of diced onion
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 4 tomatoes, diced
- 1 tsp of annatto
- 3 tbsp of oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- 50ml of cognac
- 200ml of water
- pepper to taste
Preparation
- Cut meat into small cubes
- Season with salt and pepper
- Sauté in oil, flambé with cognac and set aside.
- Using the same pan used to sauté the beef and the same oil, braise the garlic, tomatoes, onion and annatto.
- Add water
- Return the meat to the pan, cooking for 15 minutes.
Serve it with white rice, beans, a fried egg and some farofa.
