A Midwest Culinary Star on women in hospitality, food insecurity and more
Latest episode of #restaurantinc podcast features Tre Rivali Executive Chef Heather Terhune
Chef Heather Terhune is a powerhouse. That’s something I immediately knew when I first met her more than 20 years ago in Chicago when she was Atwood Café’s first executive chef.
I was in awe that this young woman who looked like she had just graduated from culinary school was in such an esteemed position. This was no fluke because she was a talent indeed—who was no nonsense—and throughout her career, she’s uplifted other talented women as well.
During the latest episode for the #restaurantinc podcast, Chef Terhune (who is now executive chef at Tre Rivali in Milwaukee) and I discuss just how far women have come in the hospitality industry. We also discuss the importance of hospitality industry professionals giving back, particularly to charities that address food insecurity.
The former “Top Chef” contestant is one of several Midwestern chefs participating in the 30th annual “Taste of the Nation No Kids Hungry” event, taking place Friday, Nov. 8 at Revel Fulton Market.
