Bread Pudding - The Real Deal

----- INGREDIENTS -----
  • 12 ea. Eggs
  • 3 pts. Heavy Cream
  • 2 loafs Texas Toast
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1 ea. Vanilla Bean

For the Whisky Sauce:

  • 1 shot Jack Daniels
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ lb. Butter
  • ¼ cup Heavy Cream
----- PREPARATION -----
  1. Lay bread out on sheet pan and butter each slice. Put in oven until GBD (golden brown and delicious). Cut each slice into fours.
  2. In large bowl add your eggs and sugar.
  3. On stovetop heat your heavy cream, vanilla bean, cinnamon, butter. Bring to boil then turn off heat. Slowly add heavy cream into egg and sugar mix. Make sure it doesn't scramble the egg. Add toast to mixture and make sure all pieces are submerged in liquid.
  4. Let sit in cooler for 20 min. Butter your hotel pan and pour mixture into pan. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes.

For the Whiskey Sauce:

  1. Melt butter and brown sugar, add heavy cream and Jack Daniels. Cook until smooth, stirring constantly.

For Presentation:

  1. Serve on a plate topped with sauce and a dollop of freshly-made vanilla bean ice cream.
