Reinhart Announces Grand Prize Winners Of The First “Best Of Reinhart Country” Contest

ROSEMONT IL, March 21, 2016 – Today, Reinhart Foodservice, L.L.C. announced the winners of its first “Best of Reinhart Country” recipe contest as part of its quarterly publication, Restaurant Inc, The Business of Food. The winners of each five categories were selected from over 200 entries from across the United States.

“We launched this contest to give restaurants from all over the country an opportunity to showcase what they do best on a daily basis: create mouthwatering meals for their customers,” said Eric Cronert, Reinhart Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “It was incredible to see the high caliber of dishes and the stories behind them. Going from hundreds of recipes to our 25 finalists and then selecting our grand prize winners was challenging, but we’re thrilled to be able to celebrate all of these amazing restaurants and what makes them so successful. Congratulations to our winners.”

The Best of Reinhart Contest featured five categories across the bar and grill segment: appetizers, burgers, sides, desserts and cocktails. The five grand prize winning recipes are:

  • Appetizer: Beer, Bacon Jam and Gouda Arancini from Press Bistro, Johnstown, PA
  • Burger: Roasted Garlic Chorizo Pretzel Burger from Press Bistro, Johnstown, PA
  • Side Dish: Lobster and Truffle Mac & Cheese from Creekside Oyster House & Grill, Sylva, NC
  • Dessert: Jalapeno Blackberry Cobbler from Middleton’s on Main, Wauconda, IL
  • Cocktail: Nutty-Pump Profashional from 6.4.3. Sports Bar & Grill, Bowling Green, KY

In order to select the grand prize winners, five finalists were determined in each category based on their creativity, completeness of the recipe instructions, adherence to category theme, ease of execution and essay content. From there, each of the finalists’ recipes were recreated by a team of talented chefs and judged by a panel of Reinhart suppliers, foodservice experts and other professionals. The 25 recipes were rated based on taste, originality, appearance and texture to select the grand prize winners

Each of the winners will receive a $2,000 purchase credit from Reinhart as well as a feature article in the Spring edition of Restaurant Inc magazine.
